Cyber Social (Multi-Factor Authentication)

Legacy Core™ launched its first Cyber Social on January 28 with a practical, non-technical session focused on multi-factor authentication, commonly known as MFA.

The presentation explained why passwords alone may not provide enough protection, especially when passwords are reused, stolen, or exposed through phishing and data breaches. Attendees learned how MFA adds a second verification step—such as an authentication app, security key, text message, or device prompt—before access is granted to an account.

The session also covered which accounts should be prioritized first, including email, banking, cloud storage, social media, and business platforms. Participants received clear guidance on enabling MFA, choosing stronger verification methods, and responding to unexpected login prompts.

The event helped community members and small-business owners take an immediate, practical step toward better digital security. It also established the foundation for Legacy Core’s Cyber Social series: making cybersecurity easier to understand and turning technical concepts into actions people can use in everyday life.
